Grimoire
This policy explains what Grimoire does with your information. It is written to be read, not to be survived.
The short version
Grimoire has no accounts, no login, and no servers of ours. There is nothing to sign up for and nothing to sign in to. What the game remembers is stored only on your device. We do not collect, see, or sell your personal information. The advertising SDK we use does collect data — that section is below, and it is the only part where anything leaves your phone.
What the game itself stores
Grimoire saves the following on your device only, using local storage:
- your best score, and how many runs you have finished
- whether sound is muted
- whether you have already seen the one-time tutorial
- how long it has been since the last full-screen ad, so ads stay spaced out
- whether you have purchased the ad-free upgrade
That is the complete list. There is no save file for a run in progress, no per-board record, no profile, and no history of what you played. All of it never leaves your phone, is not backed up to us, and is deleted when you uninstall the app. There is no way for us to read it.
Advertising
Grimoire displays ads from Google AdMob: a banner on the title and game-over screens, an occasional full-screen ad between runs, and an optional rewarded video you can choose to watch to relight the candle. Nothing interrupts a run in progress, and the rewarded video is never forced — it happens only if you press the button.
To serve those ads, Google's SDK may collect and process device and usage information, including an advertising identifier, approximate location derived from IP address, and ad interaction data. This happens inside Google's SDK; we do not receive that data.

Controlling this. On Android you can reset or delete your advertising ID in Settings → Privacy → Ads. On iOS, ad tracking requires your explicit permission, which you can refuse or revoke in Settings → Privacy & Security → Tracking.
Buying the ad-free upgrade stops the banner and the full-screen ads being requested at all, which means the advertising SDK stops collecting for those purposes. The rewarded video stays available to owners on purpose — it is something you can choose, not something you are made to sit through — and if you never press it, it never runs.
Purchases
Remove Ads is a single one-time purchase, sold through Google Play Billing. Your payment is handled entirely by Google — we never see your card details, name, or billing address. We receive only the fact that the purchase completed, so the app can unlock the entitlement on your device. Restore Purchase in the settings panel asks the store again whether you own it; it sends nothing of yours anywhere we can see.
Analytics
There are none. Grimoire contains no analytics or crash-reporting SDK, makes no network requests of its own, and reports nothing about how you play. The only network traffic the app generates is Google's, for ads and for billing.
Children
Grimoire is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them. If you believe a child has provided information through the advertising SDK, contact us and we will help you raise it with Google.
Users in the EEA, UK, and Switzerland
Where required, Google's User Messaging Platform will ask for your consent before personalised ads are shown, and you may decline. Declining does not stop you playing — you will see non-personalised ads instead. You have the right to access, correct, or erase personal data held about you; because we hold none ourselves, such requests should be directed to Google for advertising data.
Users in California
We do not sell or share personal information as those terms are defined by the CCPA/CPRA. Advertising data collected by Google is governed by Google's own disclosures, linked above.
Changes
If this policy changes materially, the "last updated" date will change and the revised policy will be published at the same URL before the change takes effect.
